Planting has started in Lower Chew Forest - donations still needed!

Chew Valley Plants Trees is delighted to support Avon Needs Trees in their purchase of Lower Chew Forest - Avon Needs Trees.

We are thrilled that Avon Needs Trees and partner organisations have successfully purchased more land with a commitment to establish up to 100,000 trees and shrubs within a mosaic of habitats including wetlands, miles of hedgerow, and species rich grassland.

As well as this massive tree planting endeavour (the largest in the South West in a generation) they will be caring for 420 acres of land with a mixture of wildlife habitats and regenerative farming. That’s a massive plus for nature and carbon capture and will enhance local food production.

Our aim in Chew Valley Plants Trees is to double tree cover in the Chew Valley catchment area so of course we want this land purchase to succeed: it will have a significant impact on this goal. And the good news is, when Avon Needs Trees buy land they ensure it has public access and is held in trust for this purpose in perpetuity: your children’s children really will play beneath the boughs of the trees you  plant.

So why not donate to this fabulous project today, and leave your own message about why you are donating.

Just one pound puts a tree in the ground: how many trees might you invest in?
